A relational natural-resource-based view on product innovation: The influence of green product innovation and green suppliers on differentiation advantage in small manufacturing firms

The resource-based view (RBV) of the firm has been used to examine role resources and capabilities in product innovation how is related overall performance. Moreover, natural RBV (NRBV) addressed affect environment, whereas relational highlighted importance resources, that is, shared with stakeholders outside focal firm. In order consider these extensions innovation, this article applies a NRBV (RNRBV) on innovation. Using data from 305 Swedish small manufacturing firms, structural equation modeling relationships between green (GPI), differentiation advantage performance, are influenced by resource terms suppliers. results demonstrate GPI affects relationship strengthened having offers RNRBV illustrates incorporating additional dependent variables other than aggregated performance measures when researching GPI. study shows suppliers can provide important products complementary for fully realize its capability.
